Virtual Puppy School

Ideal for busy owners or pups who aren’t suited to in-person classes. Small group sessions make learning engaging while keeping things personal.

Training Journey (Sample)

  • Week 1 – Building Foundations & Focus

    Name recognition & attention games to help in those early walks. Marker word / clicker conditioning. Calm settle on a mat/bed.

  • Week 2 – Confidence & Communication

    Sit, stand, down. Recall foundations. Confidence-building with novel objects & sounds.

  • Week 3 – Life Skills in Action

    Loose-lead walking foundations. Drop (introducing impulse control kindly). Calm greetings with people (no jumping up practice)

  • Week 4 – Social Skills & Settling

    Redirection & breaking fixations. How to socialise with other dogs and advocating for your dog.

  • Week 5 – Building Reliability

    Stay/Wait foundations. Emergency Stop for those “just in case” moments. Adding fun and flair with Go Around (sending your pup around an object)

  • Week 6 – Pulling It All Together

    Practising fun sequences that combine the skills we’ve covered, chaining behaviours together to build confidence, reliability, and celebrate progress.

  • Don’t worry—each session is recorded and available for one week, along with refresher materials so you can catch up anytime. That said, joining live is always the best way to get the most out of the course—you’ll be able to ask questions, get feedback, and be part of the group as we learn together.

  • Yes! Even if your pup has a head start, this course is about more than just learning the basics—it’s about strengthening reliability, working around real-life distractions, and practising in a supportive group. We’ll also adapt exercises to your pup’s level, so you won’t be repeating things you already know.

    Before the course begins, we’ll give you a quick call to find out what you’d like to get out of the course—this way we can tailor the content to suit your goals.

  • Classes are usually held on weekend mornings around 10–11am, as this is when pups are most alert and ready to learn. If you’re looking for a different day or time, just drop us an email—we may already have another group running, or we can connect you with likeminded owners to set up a new class.

  • Absolutely! Anyone involved in caring for your pup is encouraged to attend—it’s really helpful when everyone is on the same page with training. Children are also welcome, as we believe they’re the dog trainers of tomorrow, and it’s a great way for them to learn safe and positive ways to interact with dogs.

  • Yes! Every class is hosted live by a trainer who will guide you through the exercises, answer questions, and give feedback. We also use a mix of live teaching and pre-recorded demos so you can see each step clearly before practising with your pup.

Hi, I’m Charlotte, the trainer behind Dogs Furrst! I’m passionate about helping dogs and their people build strong, positive relationships through fun, reward-based training. With experience in puppy foundations, recall, loose-lead walking, and tackling common challenges, my goal is to make training enjoyable, effective, and tailored to you and your pup.
